2.5×3.5 Silk Base Topper

The 2.5×3.5 is the middle ground — bigger than a spot cover, smaller than a full crown piece. It handles a parting that's widened along with the area either side of it, which is how thinning usually progresses.
The silk base is what makes it work. Lace is breathable but you can sometimes catch the mesh in strong light; silk sits flat and opaque and reads as scalp. When someone looks at your parting, they see a parting.

Part your hair where you normally do. Backcomb lightly at the crown — this is the step most people skip, and it's what stops the topper sliding. Clip the front edge first, just behind your natural parting, then the two sides. Comb your own hair over the edges and it's done.
CARING FOR IT
Wash every 8 to 10 wears with a mild sulphate-free shampoo. Cool water, gentle hands, no wringing. Air-dry flat or on a stand. Never blow-dry it on high heat.
